EuroRep have used this substrate for years in amphibian enclosures.
It is used as a substrate with water. Banks and land areas can be made by simply moving it around.
It can be used under other substrates in naturalistic vivariums and provides a body of water and a bio filter.
It is very porous and can be used in biological filters. It is very easy to wash and lasts for many years.
Not to be confused with other similar substrates that float and cannot be used in most applications.
From the bag this substrate must be washed thoroughly before use under running water until the water becomes clear.
To set up a fully planted vivarium use the ZooMed Terrarium Substrate Mesh to seperate the soil from the clay balls.
